Who we are
Straight Up Stays Ltd is a UK Airbnb and short-let management company, registered in England and Wales under company number 14569679. Our full registered company details are on our legal information page.
We are responsible for the personal information collected through this website. You can contact us about anything in this policy at leo@straightupstays.com.
What we collect
When you request a free valuation through the form on this site, we collect:
- your full name;
- your email address;
- your phone number;
- your property's postcode;
- the number of bedrooms and the property type.
If you email us, we also hold whatever you choose to include in that correspondence. This website does not collect anything about you in the background: there are no analytics, advertising or tracking technologies on it (see our cookie policy).
How we use your information
We use the details you send us to:
- assess your property and prepare your valuation;
- contact you to talk through the valuation and answer your questions;
- take any further steps you ask us to take, for example preparing a proposal, before a possible management agreement or, for a small number of properties, a separate company let agreement;
- respond to anything else you ask us.
We only use your details for the purposes described above. We do not sell them.
Our lawful basis
Our lawful basis for this processing is that it is necessary to take steps, at your request, before we potentially enter into a contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR). In plain terms: you have asked us to look at your property and tell you what we can offer, and we need your details to do that and to follow up on it.
Marketing
We do not automatically add valuation enquiries to a newsletter or mailing list, and we do not run an automated promotional sequence. We use your submitted information for your valuation enquiry and reasonable direct follow-up about that specific enquiry, such as checking in if we have not heard back from you.
If we ever wanted to use your details for a newsletter, a wider nurture campaign, SMS marketing or an advertising audience, that would need a separate privacy and PECR (electronic communications) review, and, where the law requires it, your separate consent. Nothing like that is in place today.
Who processes it for us
When you submit the valuation form, the submission is delivered to us by Formspree, a form processing service, which passes your details to our email inbox. This website is hosted by Vercel, whose infrastructure keeps standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP addresses) to run and secure the service. These providers process your information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
If you do not go on to become a client, we normally keep your valuation enquiry for up to 12 months after our last meaningful contact with you, and then delete it.
If you do become a client, we keep the relevant information for as long as the management (or company let) relationship continues, and afterwards for as long as applicable legal, accounting or record-keeping requirements require.
We may keep information for longer than these periods where we reasonably need to in order to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
If you ask us to delete your details before then, we will do so unless we have a lawful reason to keep them — for example, a live legal or accounting requirement — in which case we will explain why. To ask, email leo@straightupstays.com.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong;
- ask us to delete your information;
- ask us to limit how we use it, or object to us using it;
- ask for your information in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, email leo@straightupstays.com. We will respond within the timescales the law sets.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first and we will do our best to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by post to Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.
Changes to this policy
If how we handle personal information changes, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
